And in the end, the world will end… what that means, only Celente knows.

FMS 2011 on December 4 FMS Dean confirms to MBAUniverse

After breaking the news on the exam dates of the major MBA entrance exams of 2011-12 like CAT 2011, IIFT 2011, SNAP 2011, NMAT 2011, XAT 2012 MBAUniverse.com is once again the first to break the news of another important exam – FMS 2011.

The entrance exam for the prestigious Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2011.

Confirming the date with MBAUniverse.com, Dr. Raj S Dhankar, Dean, FMS Delhi said, “The entrance exam for FMS for the academic year 2012-14 will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2011. The other details of the exam will be decided soon. The official announcement will be made in early September.”

Last year, FMS entrance exam was held on Sunday, December 5, 2010. FMS is a paper pencil based test. The duration of the paper is two hours. The sections are Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability, English Comprehension and Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning. FMS 2010 had 200 questions. The difficulty level of the paper was moderate to difficult.q

Faculty of Management of Studies (FMS), University of Delhi, was established in 1954. Interestingly, it is also believed to be one of the oldest B-schools in the country. Its goal is to develop business leaders with greater capacity to think analytically and implement their ideas strategically.

As it is a popular B-school in the country, what’s more laudable is its alumni. Wherever its alumni are spread out in the globe, their sole concern is to increase the status of their management school. They are certainly abiding by the values they were taught at FMS while they were there.

One of them is Neelam Dhawan. She is currently MD of Hewlett Packard, India. She has been instrumental in developing the IT industry in the country for the past twenty years. And the results have been extraordinary. Prior to joining HP, she was MD of Microsoft India starting from 2005 to 2008.

Another famous alumni of FMS Delhi is Raghav Bahl, the Founder and Managing Director of Network18 group. Raghav began his career as a management consultant with A.F. Ferguson & Co. followed by a stint with American Express Bank before he turned to his first love, media. Winner of the Sanskriti Award for Journalism in 1994, Raghav has over 22 years’ experience in television and journalism. He founded TV18 (now Network18 Group) in 1993. Raghav is a widely admired entrepreneur and was hailed as a Global Leader of Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum. He was also selected by Ernst & Young as ‘Entrepreneur of The Year (2007) for Business Transformation’. He is an Economics graduate from St. Stephens College.

Then other product of FMS is Amit Jain. He is currently MD of AkzoNobel India. He has more than twenty years experience in the field of multi-function management. Before being appointed for this company, he worked as Executive Vice President and Managing Director, MTV Networks India, China & South East Asia from Singapore. Given this huge onus upon him, he was successful in accelerating the expansion of MTV businesses in these major Asian markets. He is best known for his so-called great leadership in launching Viacom 18, an entertainment-joint venture which led to the opening of one of India’s leading channels named Colors.
